OKAY is a true engineering company. While we operate chiefly in the recycling sector, OKAY has always offered automation solutions to the manufacturing and logistics sectors.

In this video, we show a glimpse of our new palletising system for Essity in its final FATS testing at our factory.

Essity is a global hygiene products manufacturer and this is a bespoke engineering solution designed for their operation. It will receive wetlap stacks from the upstream wetlap machine and automatically transfer the stacks onto pallets before our system weighs and labels the palletised stacks ahead of discharge onto dual output lines.

When up and running, this automation solution will replace the work of two forklifts and it links into the upstream and downstream wetlap manufacturing process for seamless integration.

This is a brand new way for Essity to palletise their wetlap stacks and thus deliver greater efficiency across their operations, resulting in better value to their customers. OKAY offers fantastic value in this niche area for customers such as Essity: it is heavy duty kit, tailored to an exact requirement, built in the UK and at offered at very cost effective prices, particularly against global papermaking technology giants.

Our system will be installed and commissioned later in 2025 and we will give an update showing the kit running in situ with the Essity wetlap stacks.

OKAY was founded by Oates Kay in 1950 and his first love was tailored engineering solutions for the papermaking industry. We are very proud to share his passion for this still, some 70 years on, and to have this chance to deliver our highly-efficient automation system for Essity.
