RAM Cutter

OKAY also designs bespoke kit to order.  In this instance, we were asked to devise a RAM cutter for a customer.  This was to allow them to remove the strip of RAM quickly and efficiently for recycling.

The result is this brilliant ‘cashpoint’ machine and into which a RAM board can be inserted by hand.  The mechanism behind this safe interface point takes the board and slices off the RAM strip sending it to a separate area for collection.  The fibreboard falls in the other direction and into a separate collection area.

Special care went into the design to allow for the water cooling system not to clog the machine as the powder from the fibreboard is released with each cut.

Operators can pre-select the width of the RAM strip and the machine can process 200 RAM boards per hour.

This machine gives the operator a fast and safe means to removed the valuable RAM strip from the fibreboard.
